Our detailed white, paper landmarks took their place in one of the most incredible wooden framed windows I have ever seen. The concept worked wonders the dark background of the dark wooden details make the white facades really stand out.
We were asked to create four paper landmarks of Budapest: The Hungarian State Opera House, the Basilica, the Gresham Palace and the Parlament of Hungary. It was a challenge to simplify the buildings, in order to represent them in a unified graphical language, still remaining recognisable as the iconic buildings we all know.
Using the different thickness of the precisely cut foamboards, and the extra layers in between, resulted in this exciting threedimensional effect.
